Of all the short coat Chihuahuas available, Johann and Annatjie van Tonder of LUMHANGIA Chihuahuas, believe theirs are the most loving and adorable.
Johann and Annatjie are retired teachers, and have settled near East London, South Africa, on the East Coast Resorts road, together with their Chihuahua family. Johann and Annatjie fell in love with their new dogs, Cassie and Soentjies, and when the first litter arrived, there was no turning back. The Chihuahua family grew, and LUMHANGIA Chihuahuas came into being. The name is an acronym of all the grand-children's names. LUMHANGIA Chihuahuas is a registered Chihuahua breeder with the Kennel Union of South Africa.
The Chihuahuas at LUMHANGIA are not pieces of business equipment; they are members of the family. They are not kept in kennels, and are not caged. The LUMHANGIA Chihuahuas have free access to a large safe garden, and have plenty of toys to keep themselves occupied. There is more than enough space for the dogs to exercise. The accommodation for the Chihuahua is a large dormitory, which is ideal, as Chihuahuas are clannish by nature. For bitches about to give birth there are dedicated maternity rooms. The bitches get personal attention from Johann and Annetjie during birthing, and litters of 4 puppies at a time are the average.
All the dogs have full and free access to their comfortable beds, and along with a well planned diet, there is a constant supply of fresh drinking water.
Puppies become accustomed to human handling from birth, to encourage the important bonding process that will take place when the puppies go to their new homes. It is very important to the van Tonder's that their puppies go to good homes, as Lumhnangia Chihuahua puppies are raised with love and care, and will bring love, fun, and laughter to any home.
When not busy in the garden, surrounded by Chihuahuas, and with Winston the Parrot and Speedy the tortoise close to them, the van Tonder's enjoy the nearby beach.
